Anil K. Jain is a University Distinguished Professor in the Departments of Computer Science & Engineering, and Electrical & Computer Engineering at Michigan State University. He is a Fellow of the ACM, IEEE, AAAS, IAPR and SPIE. His research interests include pattern recognition, computer vision and biometric recognition. He is the author of several books, including Introduction to Biometrics (2011), Handbook of Biometrics (2007), and Handbook of Multibiometrics (2006). ISI has designated him as a highly cited researcher (his h-index is 96). He served as the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Trans. Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (1991-1994).

Xiaoqing Ding is the professor and Ph.D. supervisor at department of electronic engineering, Tsinghua University. She is a Fellow of IEEE and IAPR. Her research interests include pattern recognition, image processing, characters recognition, biometric identification, computer vision and video surveillance etc. She has got a series of achievements on Chinese/Multilanguage character recognition, face recognition, etc. She has won the most prestigious four National Scientific and Technical Progress Awards in China in 1992,1999, 2003 and 2008, also won the Awards of “Best Overall Performing Face Verification Algorithm” in FAT2004 on ICPR2004 and got the better performance in FRVT2006.
